About the Role

Bunyonyi Luxury Resort is looking for a talented and creative Executive Chef to lead our culinary team. We pride ourselves on serving exceptional cuisine that combines international flavors with local Ugandan ingredients. The Executive Chef will be responsible for all aspects of kitchen operations, menu development, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. Requirements

  • - Minimum 5 years experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef
  • - Culinary degree or professional chef certification
  • - Extensive knowledge of international and local cuisine
  • - Proven experience in menu planning and development
  • - Strong understanding of food cost control and kitchen management
  • - Knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations
  • - Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • - Creative approach to menu design and presentation
  • - Experience in luxury hotel or resort environment preferred
  • - Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • - Strong communication skills
  • - Passion for using fresh, local ingredients

Key Responsibilities

  • - Lead and manage all kitchen operations and staff
  • - Design innovative menus featuring international and local cuisine
  • - Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation
  • - Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety
  • - Manage food costs, inventory, and supplier relationships
  • - Train and develop kitchen staff
  • - Create daily specials and seasonal menu items
  • - Coordinate with front-of-house team for special events and functions
  • - Monitor kitchen equipment and coordinate maintenance
  • - Implement and enforce kitchen policies and procedures
  • - Handle special dietary requirements and guest requests
  • - Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization
